DSK-Benelli made their official launch by riding in five offerings - the TNT 300, TNT 600 GT, TNT600 i, TNT 899, TNT 1130R. The Italian brand is led by Shirish Kulkarni, chairman of DSK Motowheels, who spearheads the brand‘s operations in India and assembly facility in Maharashtra. By bringing their products via the CKD route, Benelli has been successful in pricing the motorcycle competitively. Benelli is among the oldest Italian two-wheeler manufacturers and the brand precedes the likes of Ducati, Aprilia and even MV Agusta! Benelli has a glorious racing pedigree as it has won both the Isle of Man TT and also MotoGP races. The Italian brand faced many financial difficulties and ownership tussles before it settled with Group Qianjiang in 2005, a corporation in Wenling, southeast China. The Benelli group’s R&D centre is still based in in Pesaro, Italy. Benelli recently launched its first full-faired motorcycle for India, the 302R, and also plans to ride in more mass market products including scooters. DSK-Benelli has also expanded its dealership network massively to 26 six dealerships and its future plan is to magnify the brand’s reach by entering Tier II cities in the country.
