Treading on the same path as Revolt and Ather Energy, Ampere Electric has now announced battery subscription plans for its scooters in partnership with Autovert Technologies. The monthly subscription plan starts at Rs 1,990, effectively bringing the price of scooters like the Magnus Pro down to Rs 49,990 (on-road). For reference, the actual ex-showroom cost of the scooter is Rs 73,990. Ampere Electric also offers full vehicle subscription plans for the Magnus Pro and Zeal models, starting at Rs 2,777 per month.
The monthly package includes benefits like a 5-year extended warranty, full vehicle insurance as well as service and maintenance for 24 months. There’s even attractive upgrade options and discounts on replacement batteries on offer. Ampere believes this will reduce customers’ anxiety about the lifecycle management of batteries while reducing the overall cost of ownership.
The move not only makes Ampere’s products more affordable and accessible, but also gives customers the opportunity to upgrade to another Ampere scooter down the line.
Targeting each EV component separately should enable faster adoption of EVs in the country and hopefully convert 30 percent of automotive sales into electric vehicles by 2030.
