The Loncin 500AC has been spotted ahead of its official launch abroad

  • The motorcycle features a Benelli Leoncino-like styling with modern elements like smartphone compatibility & all-LED lighting.
  • It  reportedly packs a 471cc parallel twin liquid-cooled engine that’s good for 47.5PS and 43Nm.

MV Agusta’s Chinese partner, Loncin Holdings, is likely to launch the Loncin 500AC abroad soon, as the motorcycle has been spied in its production-ready form. The brand had announced the plan to launch this 500cc neo-retro bike last year, but only now the pictures of the production version have surfaced online, hinting at its imminent launch in the core Asian market.

The design elements of this motorcycle seem to be inspired from both the Benelli Leoncino 500 and the Honda CB 300R. It packs an all-LED lighting system and a full-colour TFT instrument cluster with smartphone compatibility. 

It is reported that the motorcycle will be powered by the KE500 powertrain from the brand. This 471cc parallel twin liquid-cooled engine produces a healthy 47.5PS at 8500rpm and 43Nm at 7000rpm. These output figures are perfect for the European markets too, as it complies with the A2 licensing regulations. That said, it remains to be seen whether Loncin will export the motorcycle to the European markets or not. 

The Loncin 500AC is loaded with premium underpinnings in the form of an inverted front fork, rear monoshock, twin front petal discs and a disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard. All in all, it seems to be a well-rounded motorcycle that has the potential to do well in the mid-capacity segment.

A couple of months ago, renderings of the small-capacity MV Agusta surfaced online. The Italian brand had announced that it will launch small-capacity bikes displacing 350cc to 500cc in partnership with Loncin. You can read more about it here.
