Let’s take a closer look at Hero’s new feature-packed Destini 125 Xtec variant

To make its products even more attractive for the newer generation of riders, Hero MotoCorp has been packing its two-wheelers with modern features. The largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country launched the Destini 125 Xtec in April 2022, a fully feature-packed variant of its popular 125cc scooter. Let's take a closer look at what it gets in images.

In terms of appearance the Hero Destini Xtec more or less retains the same simple and minimal scooter styling as the standard variant. However, it does get a new LED headlight with a redesigned front fascia. Adding to it are the new chromed out rear-view mirrors and handlebar ends for a classier appeal. Moreover, it also gets an apron-mounted glove box, a pillion backrest and comes with fresh colour schemes.

Powering the scooter is the same 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor which produces 9.1PS and 10.4Nm. It now comes coupled with an idle start-stop system for better efficiency, which should not only make it more efficient than before, but greener too.

What really sets the Xtec apart from the other variants are the new features, and the scooter is loaded to the gills with it. Adding more flavour to the Xtec is a semi-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, which features call and SMS alerts.

The scooter features a USB charging socket in the apron glove box, but, misses out on turn-by-turn navigation, something that its rival, the Suzuki Access 125 flaunts.

With the same telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear, the Destini 125 Xtec continues to get drum brakes at both ends and does not offer a disc brake, even as an option.

Priced at Rs 80,690, the Xtec variant commands a premium of Rs 10,700 over the standard variant and rivals the likes of TVS Jupiter 125, Suzuki Access 125, Honda Activa 125, and the Yamaha Fascino 125. It would have been an even more attractive package had it featured turn-by-turn navigation and got a disc brake option.
