Komaki has equipped the new launches with a host of features, including faux exhausts

Komaki has launched two electric two-wheelers in India: Ranger and Venice. While the former is a cruiser priced at Rs 1.68 lakh, the e-scooter carries a sticker price of Rs 1.15 lakh. These products will be available in all Komaki dealerships from January 26 onwards.

The Komaki Ranger is the first electric cruiser to be launched in India, and has the design of a typical old-school cruiser with comfortable ergonomics, generous use of chrome, and tan seats. Even the switchgear is very much retro. Heck, there’s also a faux exhaust that glows with “flame effect” and produces sound.

This electric bike is powered by a 4kW motor paired with a 72V50Ah lithium-ion battery, capable of a claimed range of 200km in ‘Eco’ mode. Komaki hasn’t mentioned the charge time or the performance of the motor yet.

The Komaki Ranger is a feature-rich motorcycle, boasting of three riding modes, reverse assist, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity with music and phone control, and a USB charger. Komaki has also included panniers, tail rack, crash guard and auxiliary lights as standard equipment.

The Indian company has also launched the Venice e-scooter, which has a Vespa-inspired styling. Right from its headlight and body panels, down to the logo on the front apron, everything has been influenced by the Italian brand.

The Komaki Venice is powered by a 3kW BLDC hub motor paired with a 72V40Ah lithium-ion battery pack, having a claimed range of 100-120km. Just like the Ranger, it has three riding modes along with reverse mode. Komaki has equipped the e-scooter with a Bluetooth connected LCD console that has music and even radio control.

The Komaki Venice’s price puts it in the league of the Ola Electric S1, Ather 450 Plus and the TVS IQube Electric. However, with no information available on its performance, we aren’t sure if it is on a par with the competition. The Ranger is a unique proposition, of not just being the first electric cruiser in the market, but of having limited competition. That said, with the Tork Kratos scheduled to launch tomorrow, things will get interesting for customers looking for electric motorcycles.
