10 detailed images do all the talking for the 2020 250 Duke
KTM updated its entire portfolio in India, including the 250 Duke, to comply with BS6 emission norms. Alongside the engine update, the bikes also received cosmetic updates to keep them looking fresh. The 250 Duke is offered in two new paint schemes along with a couple of feature updates. Here’s a closer look at the bike in detailed images.
The biggest visual difference comes with the new livery, which makes the bike look a lot sleeker than before. The graphics are kept to a bare minimum with ‘250’ slapped onto the tank extensions in big, bold letters. There are two colour options on offer: Silver Metallic and Dark Galvano.
The front fork also features reflectors to comply with safety regulations.
The colour of the chassis has been interchanged, where the main frame is now painted in bright orange while the subframe is sprayed in silver or dark grey, depending on the colour of the bike.
It retains its halogen headlamp flanked by LED DRLs. The tail light remains unchanged as well.
There’s no change to the full-digital instrument console either. A full-colour TFT-screen like the 390 Duke would have been a welcome change here.
Interestingly, the two liveries come with two wheel colour options. Metallic silver, for instance, features blacked-out wheels, while dark grey gets you orange wheels. If you look closer, you’d also notice the interior of the brake rotor finished in black.
At the heart of it all lies a BS6-compliant 248.8cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 30PS at 9000rpm 24Nm at 7500rpm. The engine uses a 6-speed transmission and a slip and assist clutch.
Hardware remains unchanged as well except for one addition. The BS6 KTM 250 Duke comes with dual-channel ABS and SuperMoto mode, which essentially lets you turn off the rear ABS for some sideways action.
The bike is anchored by the same 320mm disc up front and a single 230mm disc at the rear.
In terms of pricing, the 250 Duke retails at Rs 2,00,576 -- a hike of Rs 3,328 over the BS4 model.
